The Board of Education of La Harpe Community School District 347 and Superintendent Dr. Janet Gladu have reached a retirement agreement. The agreement was approved during a special meeting held on May 7.
Dr. Gladu will complete the current school year, which ends on June 30, and will officially retire from the La Harpe School District at that time.

The contract set her base annual salary at $136,282 for 2025-2026, with scheduled increases of 4% for the following two years and 5% for the final two years. Those raises would have increased her salary to $141,733 (2026-2027), $148,820 (2027-2028), $156,261 (2028-2029), and $164,074 (2029-2030).
Gladu was hired in 2022. Her previous administrative positions include serving as superintendent of the Griggsville-Perry school district from 2013 to 2018 and of San Jon Municipal Schools in New Mexico from 2018 to 2022.
