What are you leaning on to guide you through this life? Maybe it’s emotions, money, listening to others, past experiences, comfort, pride, fear, along with many other things.
The devil is always whispering lies to us. It’s so important to surrender daily, spend time with God and let the Holy Spirit lead you instead of anything else.
Two Sundays ago we were headed back from vacation. I felt a nudge to stop at this good restaurant that we’d been to before. I didn’t think anything about it in the moment.
It’s about an hour and a half from home and has really good seafood and other options. As I was walking out I heard someone say my name.
It was a friend of mine that farms, I’d met last year through Facebook and we got to catch up for a bit. I won’t get into any details, but it made my day and this was no coincidence.
Gods hand is on every little detail when we surrender and open our eyes. This year has been so amazing and not because it’s been free of trials and tribulations.
I’ve been through the hardest circumstances of my entire life, but Gods love and faithfulness remains the same. The joy and peace that He has given me with His perfect timing doesn’t make any sense without Him.
I wouldn’t trade a single thing that’s happened in my life, good or bad. The refining and sanctification is a never ending process with God until He calls us home. He’s just getting started with my life.
We all have the opportunity to be different every single day. To stand out as one who knows the Jesus Christ as Savior and loves Him with all of our heart.
People are watching and just sitting in a church pew every Sunday, looking like the world the rest of the week will only have a negative impact for Christ.
The Bible tells us that they they’ll be known by their fruits. We’ll never be perfect, but surrendering daily and letting the Holy Spirit guide you will help you handle situations more like Christ.
Luke 6:43–44 says “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit.”
Life is very hard at times and farming can have many things that can go wrong. Leaning on God and having a positive and thankful mindset is a game changer.
It can also have an eternal impact to those around us. I used to struggle with anger and many other issues when things went wrong.
Now I get excited when things don’t go as planned because I know I’ll be seeing God work. He’s taught me more patience although I still need help with that from time to time.
Nothing is wasted with Him and He has given me so much peace on the farm. We should let Him guide the way on and off the farm.
He’s given me peace on the farm, but new circumstances outside of that have tested me severely recently. He continues to work and use it all for the good though.
Philippians 2:14-15 says "Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world."
People are watching and paying attention. Stay surrendered, always do your best, letting the Holy Spirit guide your every move and keep God first. God will plant seeds through us and then water them.
You can go to church every Sunday and say you follow God, but your fruit will always reveal the truth.
If you’re going through a tough time right now, cry out to God and lean on Him. He will never fail you. He’s gotten me through every single battle I’ve ever faced.
Let your words be few, ask God to help you be kind, love like Jesus does and encourage one another because we are representing the Lord!
