“Fourth of July”

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Two years ago on the 4th, I asked Kimberly to marry me. It was probably the second greatest day of my life to that point. The day I started a relationship with God will always take the number one spot.  God’s timing is always perfect and we got married a month later on August 9th. God has moved in mighty ways since then. It’s been such an incredible journey. 

Something shifted about that same time and God gave me a constant peace on the farm and other areas of my life.  He’s still refining me in new situations, but the Holy Spirit has moved more than ever since getting married. Refining and sanctification is a never ending process with God until He calls us home. 

I’ve also experienced some of the hardest circumstances of my entire life this past year. They were outside of farming and my wife’s cancer journey. God has blessed us tremendously in those areas.

There’s been some huge breakthroughs in the storm I was going through and can’t wait to see what God has in store for that testimony. 

Spiritual warfare is real. Some of what I’ve walked through has been nothing short of pure demonic opposition. God also uses these situations to heal us from past hurts and traumas. Nothing is wasted when it comes to Him.

I don’t feel led to share publicly yet, but He’s already opened doors to share with many people. It’s also grown my faith tremendously in the last six months. 

I have no doubt He’s allowed me to go through this fire for a greater purpose and will help so many people someday. He’s already begun to work and use it for the good and His glory.

There’s been a peace that doesn’t make sense finally come over this situation in the last month or so. There’s been so much weight lifted and answered prayers. 

My wife has been doing well since they removed her cancer this winter. She’ll be doing hormonal treatments for the next five to ten years. So far there hasn’t been any bad side effects other than not being able to sleep the best.We’ll continue to pray about that. She has a circulating tumor test coming up and we’re praying for good results.

When she was first diagnosed back in November. She said that God had told her that He would use all of this for a greater purpose and to help others. He’s done just that and will continue too. We’ll never be able to thank God enough for all of the amazing people He has surrounded us with and the answered prayers.

Romans 7:4 says “Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.”

Once we begin a relationship with God, our life is no longer about living for ourselves.  Although I still go through extremely tough circumstances since starting that relationship with God, He is so good and promises to be there every step of the way. 

It’s about living for Him and bearing fruit for God. Looking back over these last two years, I can see that He’s been producing that fruit through both the blessings and the hardest trials and tribulations of my entire life. 

So many things didn’t make sense while we were walking through them, but now I can see Him using it all for His glory. 

That’s what God always does. He takes the hardest seasons of our lives and turns them into a testimony that points people back to Him. Finish the race strong, this life is so short compared to eternity. 

My wife and I have seen so many miracles these last two years. God has used my wife and two sons to have a huge impact on my life. He’s just getting started and I’m so excited for the future.
