Are you going through the fire and praying for a breakthrough?
A year ago I was going through the fire, but God was still reminding me that He is control. It was probably one of the toughest summers I’ve ever had.
He’d given me a peace on the farm that made no sense, but the situation outside of that was the worst I’ve ever experienced. There has been so much good and refining come out of that though.
I am forever grateful for the trials and tribulations He allows me to go through. They have grown my faith tremendously and also helped others at the same time.
He’ll continue to do that, using everything for a greater purpose. Romans 8:28 has been laid on my heart daily for a while now.
Men’s group was that night and I had a two hour drive. It was a very tough day as we were dealing with an extremely dark situation. I hadn’t told anyone that day what was going on.
As soon as I left the driveway, a good friend randomly called and lifted my spirits. A few more miles down the road, another friend called. He said I’m not sure why I called, but felt God had a reason for it.
He had no idea how much I needed his words of encouragement and God stories that evening. The Holy Spirit was speaking right through him. There’s no other explanation’s for that other than God.
I don’t believe in coincidences when it comes to God. His ways are so much better than our own.
That is why it’s so important to surrender daily and let the Holy Spirit guide you. You will still go through the fire and be attacked, but God will be there to fight for you every step of the way. We have absolutely nothing to fear.
I had to make a detour on the way to mens group that night, to buy a new riser for one of my dry dams. I’d been putting it off since spring and felt led to go that evening. After I bought it, I noticed these two verses were stamped on the plastic.
Romans 8:38–39 says “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I about fell over because the fire I was going through, was dealing with someone that was pure demonic. We aren’t fighting flesh and blood.
Spiritual warfare is talked about in the Bible a lot and it is still going on today. God spoke right to me and gave me peace. The second verse on the riser was this.
John 1:1-3 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
That was probably the first time I’ve ever cried in a farm store, as I could feel God’s love and presence stronger than ever.
Depression and anxiety had hit so hard last year dealing with so many dark things that were going on out of our control.
It had been such a rough day and God lifted me up within a few hours, through a few random phone calls and some verses on a riser.
Even in the small unexpected things, God knows how to get our attention. What seemed like a simple trip to buy a riser turned into a clear reminder of who He is.
Men’s group was so powerful too. Praying for God to surround you with the right friends is crucial. He has used that to save my life these last few years and continues to connect me with so many amazing brothers in Christ.
Iron sharpens iron and God is so much more powerful than I ever realized. He loves us more than we can comprehend and truly does work all things out for our good and His glory.
Those verses stamped on the plastic weren’t there by accident, they were God’s way of saying:
“I’m with you, you are so loved and I’ve got this!”
If you’re in a dark place right now, getting attacked from all angles and praying for a breakthrough, keep pushing forward and lean on God to lift you up within His perfect timing.
He still has you here for a plan and a purpose. You’re a son or daughter of the most High.
No matter how rough this chapter is or what changes come your way, God is still in control, working behind the scenes and holding us in His love!
