“Miracle Field”

What field in your life do you need a miracle in? Most of us have extremely hard circumstances in our lives, that we’re praying for a breakthrough in.

Often times that may seem impossible or that God isn’t listening to our prayers and cries. Looking back my faith and relationship is grown most in those seasons. The waiting can be so tough, but God is always working beneath the soil. Last week I shared about a farm that received a heavy rain after planting. 

I was there two weeks ago on Tuesday and the field was bare with a few beans trying to push through the surface. It was hard to look at like many situations in our lives. 

Last weekend my Dad was mowing there and sent me a few updated pictures. You could row the beans and God had helped them push through. 

I had chills while looking at the photos. That wasn’t even the most miraculous part. That farm hadn’t received any rain since I was there last week. 

It was bone dry, down several inches down when I’d checked and the field looked terrible. My dad said that the top was still dry, but when he dug down a half inch. There was good moisture. 

He could make a ribbon with the soil in his fingers. He was blown away, but immediately said God had done something miraculous here. This makes no sense at all from a realistic standpoint. 

God is still in the miracle business. I’ve seen this time and time again over the years, on and off the farm. 

This doesn’t mean that I’ll raise a record crop, but I love these little reminders that He is still here and to keep pushing forward no matter how disastrous the situations may seem and be successful in the worlds eyes. 

Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

We have to look at everything through Gods eyes and perspective. The Holy Spirit is the only way that is possible. 

This past year I was dealt some of the worst circumstances of my entire life. There were days I screamed out to God and questioned why. 

Many nights I’d wake up gasping for air or barely had enough energy to get through the day. I’ve shed many tears through all of this  and that’s okay. Even Jesus wept. 

Psalm 30:5 says “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” 

God has used brothers in Christ, worship and many other things to lift me up and help me through these dark times. I’ll be forever grateful for that. 

He’s been doing some incredible work recently. No matter how close you get to God or spend time with Him, we’re all human and will have moments and chapters like that.

The good news is, God will never leave you there and it will all be used for a greater purpose. He’s always with us, even when it doesn’t seem like it. 

Sometimes things don’t change over night or in a few days like this meaningless field of soybeans when it comes to eternity. Don’t ever give up. 

His timing and plans are always perfect though. He’s provided some huge breakthroughs lately, that leave no other explanation other than Him. 

God loves and cares about us more than we can comprehend. He’ll never be angry or disappointed in us. 

Maybe your field that needs help is addiction, anxiety, depression, someone’s threatened your life or hurt a loved one, financial crisis, broken relationship, not wanting to be here anymore or many other challenging circumstances. 

Whatever you’re going through, know that God can do the impossible with His perfect timing. The testimony He is writing will point others to Him and change lives. 

If He can do a miracle with a simple field of soybeans and providing moisture without any rain, just think about how much more He can do in your own life!
