Does God care about the small details in our lives?
I bought my first combine nine years ago, after planting my first corn crop on eight acres.
It’s amazing looking back at all of the things God has done over the years, starting with eight acres and a little faith.
I’d been praying that spring that God would find me the right banker. He did just that and I went and told him what God had laid on my heart about starting a farm operation.
He took a leap of faith on me and gave me a loan for that combine, while still working at Pioneer. I even bought the combine from a good friend at work just like my first tractor.
His dad was retiring and it was the same one I grew up playing with the toy version as a kid. There was signs all throughout out my life that God was behind every little detail.
Proverbs 16:9 says “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
My first full time job was at Pioneer in Mount Pleasant Iowa in 2013. They closed their doors a year and a half later. Becks moved in after closing.
I was planning on working there when they got going, but it took too long and transferred to a Pioneer location near the quad cities. I didn’t realize it at the time. I had just started a relationship with God.
But He had a greater purpose for that two hour move north. He helped me get sober for the first time in my life up there and worked so many miracles in my life.
He also connected me with some of the best people that made a huge difference in my life. I’m so thankful for the friends He’s surrounded me with over the years.
It’s been incredible to watch God work. That same banker I told all of my crazy plans from God to, is the one I still work with today. He’s had a huge impact on my life.
The most important part of this whole journey is keeping God first, surrendering daily and letting Him guide the way. He can use anything we do for His glory and telling others about Jesus.
Billy Graham once said “God has a plan for your life. The greatest thing you can do is discover it, follow it and fulfill it”
Always remember that no dream is too small when it’s placed in God’s hands. He can do anything. He’s set me free from so many things that once chained me down and continues to work in my life.
Whether it’s farming, sharing the gospel or anything else we do, God can take our simple steps of faith and turn them into something far greater than we ever imagined.
Keep trusting Him, putting Him first and watch how He writes a story through your life that points others to Jesus!
