Have you ever had God do something so specific there’s no possible explanation other than Him?
I love going back through my notes from the last few years because it reminds me how faithful God has been.
The delays, storms, struggles, unexpected blessings and tiny details that seemed meaningless at the time often turned out to be part of something much bigger.
Looking back reminds me that God is always working behind the scenes, even when we can’t see it yet.
One year ago, I shutdown planting early on saturday evening to spend time with the family and go to church.
I had a twenty mile move to the next farm, so I decided to start moving equipment about two am that morning.
I was able to talk to God and reflecting on the way over here. I love looking back at everything God has done.
From seeing miracles you can’t comprehend, chains broken, doors opened and closed, small and big things He’s done that have had eternal impacts.
They all grow my faith and can be used for the good and His glory. Always allow God to guide the way and lean on Him through everything.
Proverbs 16:9 says “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
I ordered my seed during the winter and noticed two weeks before starting, that I had quite a few extra units of soybeans.
I couldn’t wrap my head around it because I’d carefully calculated my acres and populations. It’s not a big deal, because you can return it, but I felt God was telling me to hold onto it and see what happens.
Maybe He wanted me to raise populations or there was more ground in store.
I’ve never had to kick down a door since I started this journey. I’ve told God that if He opens the doors, I’ll walk through them.
This mentality gives you so much peace, knowing God is in control.
Picking up ground that late normally doesn’t happen, because you have to let the old tenant know by November 1st, if they won’t be farming it the following season.
God has added acres every single year in the spring since I started the operation though. This message isn’t about how to be successful or growing your operation.
God can open and close doors when you least expect it. It’s all about keeping your eyes on Him and living in the spirit. Obedience over perfection.
The week before planting as I was heading to Milan, Illinois for planter parts, I was asked if I’d be interested in renting a farm close by. I had a very delayed start again, with things out of my control.
Very similar to the past and most recently, this spring has been full of delays. God open a door to start last week and it was a perfect window. He is in control and He continues to give me a peace about that.
Most farmers were done planting around here or were very close a year ago. I’ve heard the rumors over the years, that people say I don’t know what I’m doing or that I’m always behind.
I truly believe God is behind it and has a much greater purpose for everything, than what meets the eye. I was very excited and knew God was the only explanation for that new opportunity.
It was a little reminder that He is still here and working even when things seem quiet or not going as planned. Also it’s very important to ignore the negativity and gossip from others. Listen to God and let the Holy Spirit guide you.
Don’t pay attention to the weather, calendar, what others are doing or anything else. God wants us to live by faith and not sight.
The craziest part of this story is, I had the exact amount of extra soybeans to plant this new farm last season. I’d even bought an extra bag just in case. I was able to give that away to someone a few weeks ago for food plots.
That was another neat thing God did. The man who came to get that one last bag of seed from the year before, turned into a nice conversation that completely shifted my whole day.
I don’t believe in coincidences and there’s no other explanation for that happening, other than God. One of my friends calls these situations a “Godincidence.”
God sees beyond what we can imagine, preparing the way long before we even realize we’re on a journey. When we trust Him with the unknowns, He proves again and again that His timing is perfect and His provision is exact.
Even if you’re in a very dark place right now, God is still with you and can turn things around over night.
That extra seed wasn’t a mistake, it was a sign of His love and faithfulness. God is so much more powerful than most realize.
Always remember that when you walk in step with Him, even the smallest details of your life are divinely orchestrated.
What looks like chance or even a bad thing is often God’s intentional design. Keep planting, trusting God and watch what He grows!
