West Central FS, Inc. has announced the discontinuation of convenience store operations at its Stronghurst Fast Stop location.
In an official update, management stated that the decision to end C-Store services, effective May 31, 2026, follows extensive review. The store has encountered persistent challenges, including labor shortages and sales fluctuations, issues common across many regional businesses, though these were not the sole reasons for the closure.
The announcement highlighted the contributions of longtime store manager Krista Lenover, recognizing her years of dedication in leading the team, serving customers, and working to recover sales volumes to pre-2020 levels. Despite exhaustive efforts to explore all options, those goals could not be achieved.
Lenover will transition to a new role within the organization as a support administrator assisting Jennifer Sparrow, the Agri-Finance Manager, in Stronghurst.
Fuel services will remain fully operational at the location. The Fuel 24 Station will continue providing 24-hour access to gasoline, diesel, and other fuels, accepting major credit cards as well as the Fast Stop fuel card.
The interior of the Stronghurst facility will undergo remodeling to better support the agronomy department, Agri-Finance operations, and associated staff, aligning with West Central FS’s core focus on agricultural products and services for farmers and businesses in the region.
