On March 4th at 6 p.m. the La Harpe City Council met to discuss the purchase of a police vehicle. Answering roll call were Dave Clover, Jeff McDowell, Todd Stevens, Randy Shumaker, Jim Lenix, and Mayor Katherine Hasten-Reed. No one else was present.
Council members discussed the purchase of a 2023 Ford Explorer from a dealership in the state of Oregon.
They also discussed getting a loan from Fortress Bank for a 2, 3 or 4 year term. Council discussed the Carfax report on the vehicle and noted the warranty was still in effect on the vehicle. The vehicle only had 16,000 miles.
Jim Lenix made a motion to purchase the 2023 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility AWD from Portland, Oregon for $23,991, plus fees and delivery and to take a 2 year loan from Fortress Bank for up to $32,000. Randy Shumaker seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
