Henderson County Fair Queen Natalie Boyd represented her community with grace and poise at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen pageant in Springfield last weekend.
The event, held during the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs convention, brought together 75 contestants from across the state.
Boyd shared her heartfelt reflections on social media following the competition, expressing deep gratitude for the experience.
“What a weekend! I am so thankful for every single moment I got to experience at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant,” Boyd posted on Facebook. She extended thanks to supporters, highlighted new friendships formed, and congratulated the winner, Krista Phillips of Effingham County.
Krista Phillips, representing Effingham County, was crowned the 68th Miss Illinois County Fair Queen on Sunday evening. She will reign over the 2026 Illinois State Fair and DuQuoin State Fair.
Locally, Warren County Fair Queen Malia Killey advanced as a Top 16 finalist.
Boyd reflected on her role as a potential inspiration, saying, “I couldn’t help but think about being a little girl and looking up to the older girls I admired, and I truly hope I was able to be that same kind of role model for younger girls this weekend.”
She gave special shoutouts to pageant director Jackie Hennenfent, family, friends, and the Henderson County community, crediting them for unwavering support. She also mentioned her late father watching over the event.
Boyd concluded optimistically: “I am so excited to continue my reign and see what’s ahead. I truly believe God has big plans in store.”
