There’s a quiet feeling many of us carry but rarely say out loud: sometimes our faith feels small.
Not small in belief, but small in confidence.
You may have followed Jesus for years. You know the songs. You’ve heard the sermons. You’ve seen Him show up in your life in ways you can’t deny.
And yet, when the moment comes to bring Him up in conversation at work, with friends, in a room where faith isn’t the loudest voice, you hesitate. Your heart believes, but your words stay tucked safely inside.
If that’s you, you’re not alone.
We often imagine faith as something bold and booming. We envision someone standing on tables, speaking without fear, always having the perfect words. But real faith doesn’t always look like that.
Sometimes it looks quiet. Sometimes it looks unsure. Sometimes it looks like a deep love for Jesus paired with a very human fear of saying the wrong thing.
And that’s okay.
I truly believe every believer feels this way at some point. Even the strongest faith can have tender moments.
Confidence in Christ doesn’t always arrive fully formed. Confidence grows, stretches, retreats, and grows again. Just like us.
God never asked us all to share Him the same way. Some people are gifted speakers. Some lead through action.
Some love deeply, serve faithfully, listen well, and live out their faith in ways words never could. Different strengths doesn’t mean weaker faith, it means a fuller body of believers.
If your faith feels small right now, it doesn’t mean it isn’t strong. It may simply mean it’s growing quietly beneath the surface.
Jesus meets us there too. He meets us in the hesitation, in the silence, in the moments we wish we were braver. And He is patient. Always.
