The Rest Of The Class:

by Dessa Rodeffer, Quill Publisher

Saturday, many attended the Stronghurst High School Alumni Banquet with around 220 in attendance. It was a wonderful time and I believe truly enjoyed by all.

People attend the banquets to see how old classmates are doing, to reminisce and to have a good time. Everyone is truly thrilled to see one another and one evening is just not enough time.

I think it is also a time, especially for the 50-year graduating classes, to finally tell all and not worry about getting into trouble for some prank they had pulled.

The most common line I am sure you heard at about everyone's table was... "Where is the rest of the class?" or in "Where is" so and so or "Have you seen" so and so, "I really would have liked to see them. How are they doing."

Many come from a long distance only to be disappointed by "the locals" who probably see each other often, but do not bother to come to the banquet.

I know we all get busy, and we sometimes don't think how much fun an event can be and just how good it is to see your old classmates, but it is the best medicine you can buy to get out of the same old, same old and think about all those Stronghurst Trojans that use to band together for the old team. You recall a lot of things you had forgotten when the fifty year class tells about their school days.

The next Alumni Banquet will be in three years and I hope all those empty chairs will be filled with those classmates we missed so much. Remember - We're Loyal To You
