Happy
to say, "We're swamped with letters"

I am keeping my comments short this week in light of the fact that many of our readers need the space on the Opinion page to share their concerns with the community.
It is great that so many people are expressing their views and desires for their children, as well as their concern for the future of education in our communities. That says a lot about the kind of people that live in our rural areas.
With different viewpoints shared, we as a community can get a clearer picture of all the possibilities and the problems that we might be facing.
In the upcoming election, whether it is for the U.S. Senate, the Appellate Judges, local county boards, sheriff, treasurer, or a consolidation issue, I hope we continue to ask questions, discuss our views, and then remember to vote in November.
The more we get involved, the more we will be doing what our President is asking us to do. He's been asked: "What can I do to help in the war on terror?" His reply included:
"Feed someone who is hungry, teach a child to read, or join in community efforts to prepare for emergencies by helping local firefighters and police" . . . .in other wards keep on supporting whatever makes America better!
