Treat
Them Like Gold

"Remember health and time are the only two nonrenewable resources. Treat them like gold."
Why is it after we have a problem we look for a solution. Wouldn't we be a lot better off if we would try a little prevention in the first place, and maybe avoid the problem, like our health.
I am not saying if we don't smoke we won't get cancer, or if we fasten our seat belts, we won't get hurt in a crash.
But, our chances are much much better if we try our best to avoid what's bad for us (like smoking, drinking, drugs) and do what's good for us (like fasten our seat belts, take our vitamins, exercise, eat a balanced meal and not too much) etc..
Time is the key, and I just read somewhere that we came into this world without a job, portfolio, a farm, a company, a fortune, even a to-do list, and we will leave the same way.
In the end, we will look back on what is truly important, and I bet it won't be that swimming pool we longed for, or new car, or new tractor.
It will more likely be the quality time we spent with our loved ones.
Let me try this on you for an example.
Suppose God spoke to you tonight and said, "Son, daughter, July is going to be your last month before I call you home. Make good time of your last twenty days."
What would you count as important.
Some of us act like we are going to be here forever, but life does have an end for all of us.
I am sure 110 Years of sentencing for John Boyd sounds like a long time and he wishes he hadn't put so much importance on money and things.
But his days have always been numbered, the same as ours. He will be forced to find better things to do with his time.
I hope we don't wait until it is too late to value what is important in life, and to take time to savor this life God has given us.
Remember, take care of your health. Use your time wisely. Do you think they are more precious than gold?
