Aren't you glad you live in America! I sure am.
As I was driving to Monmouth yesterday, I saw a homeowner had very neatly painted a picture of the American Flag on the side of his bank and the words - Pledge of Allegiance beside it. There was more, but I couldn't see it all.
I thought what a wonderful thing to be able to do, if we so desired, to express our feelings on the bank of our home by a highly traveled U.S. highway.
I wondered if part of this art work was to say to the government officials and residents of our area to protect the United States Pledge of Allegiance as it has stood since 1951, with the words "One Nation Under God."
For the life of me, I can not see how anyone can look at a world such as this, and not know there is an all powerful creator. A loving God who placed and now holds the moon, stars and sun in perfect harmony, a God who created the smallest microscopic being to the birds that fly and bears, giraffes, and elephants who roam our land.
How can one witness the miracle of a new born baby without feeling God's very presence at their side.
In America, those who differ are allowed to speak, and that makes it even greater. There are countries where speaking one's mind is not allowed. There are even homes where a spouse or parent does not allow others to express their opinion about a wrong they've felt in the family. It's a sad thing not to be able to discuss ones feelings. It is the only way truth can be found.
We should be happy in America- we have our Independence. Celebrate it today!
