If at
St. Elmo's, try the shrimp

Last weekend I enjoyed Indianapolis and Quincy Hawks baseball against Univ. of Indianapolis, a top-seeded team. Unfortunately, the Hawks couldn't keep their bats swinging through the three-game series and went home with only one win.
After Saturday's win, Matt and I enjoyed the downtown atmosphere of Indianapolis. The connoisseur at The Marriot make reservations for us, drove us to a nearby Italian restaurant, and then pick us up afterwards.
Neal Diamond had stayed at their hotel that evening performing "Prom Night" at the adjoining Convention Center.
Tickets were sold out, so I didn't get to show Matt a little of my era of music, so we opted to eat which he was much happier about.
I had called the radio station and found they were all sold, but he gave me a tip on a good place to eat at St. Elmo's. He told me to order the shrimp cocktail and have them add a little extra horseradish to spice up the sauce.
Sunday, after the QU loss, the Hawks returned on their bus and I went to the Marriott downtown. The connoisseur told me to enjoy an Indians Triple A baseball game in their new ball park next door. They valeted my car and I walked the block to Victory Field and enjoyed a $7 game. It was a great day full of families. Their mascot "Rowdy" was entertaining the young kids near my seat, and we sang at the 7th inning stretch. They lost to Tornado in the last inning 4-3 with the bases loaded.
I decided to try St. Elmo's before I left town. Bobby Knight had eaten there the night before as he was in town for a book signing that drew hundreds. Waiters were in black tuxedos in this very nice upscale place $$$. The waiter clued me not to pump up the horseradish in the shrimp. One bite had me breathing like a dragon, and he brought a large glass of ice water to my rescue. I skipped to a cold wonderful cheesecake with fresh raspberry sauce before heading home.
