Our Kids: "Oh, the Places They'll Go"

Wow, Dr. Seuss couldn't have said it better than in his book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go."

Sunday I received an up-beat phone call from my daughter-in-law, Erica Andrews in Oklahoma saying she and Troy had thoroughly enjoyed visiting the U.S. Capitol and witnessing the Bush/Cheney Inauguration.

We are so privileged in America, Erica said, to be able to freely go to our capitol, no matter who we are, and visit with our Senators and Congressmen.

I don't think people realize that anybody can do this or that they can go to the gala events and the Inauguration and balls afterwards.

Troy and Erica received free Inaugural tickets by asking their Congressman.

Below is a picture they took where they stood during the Inauguration - right behind the seated guests.

They plan on putting together a short overview of the Inauguration as they saw it, for next week's Quill.

They attended the first ever Christian Inaugural Eve Gala with 400 in attendance. Chuck Colson, Rev. Franklin Graham, senators, and others guests took part.

Not only did I receive photos from Troy's through email, but I received an email from Amy Geiser-Getz from a cyber booth in Sweden.

She and husband Glenn are sight-seeing for a week and will return to Russia.

And yes, we're grandparents again. Heather and Steve Wood had their first child Tuesday evening - Hannah Michelle, 7 lbs. 12 oz. That makes six grandchildren.

"Oh, the places they'll go!"
