It seems the feelings for our America are growing stronger every day, since our freedoms were threatened, September 11th.
At the "Star-Spangled Evening Concert of Leo Ramer and his Ecumenical Singers, the packed crowd was intent on the second half of patriotic music.

The program was everything, I hoped for and more and Ramer
and around fifty of his singers have agreed to sing their patriotic part
of their program for The Quill's 75th Year Celebration on Veterans Day, November
11th at Southern High School.
A few of the college guys below were singing some Yankee Doodle songs after the choir had presented many of our favorite songs. Meredith Clark, a University of Illinois student from Monmouth came home to sing God Bless The USA. (at left) You can see that she put her all into this song moving everyone to their feet. "Now The Day Is O'er" was softly presented and ended with the dueling taps. The final song was Battle Hymn of The Republic that had the whole audience clapping to the finale. The Quill's 75 years of newpaper publishing in the family have appreciated the Freedom of the Press, and the many other freedoms that veterans fought for and protect. We feel it is a fitting way to celebrate and we hope anyone who loves their freedom in America will join us in a fun-filled patriotic evening and help us salute those who have served us so well. |
