Little York Man, Richard Humes Wins National Corn Husking Mens Competition

Richard "Dick" Humes, 76. of Little York, competed in the National Corn Husking contest at Oakley, Kansas, Sunday, October 17th. Humes qualified for the National contest by winning the 2021 Illinois State Cornhusking Contest Sunday, Oct. 3rd at the Lewis Farm south east of Good Hope.

In 2008 "Dick" was the National Champion in the 50-year-old and up age group. He and his wife Cindy (an Illinois Cornhusking Hall of Fame inductee) traveled the 11 hour trip and made it worthwhile as Dick won the age group for 75 and up.
