Goff Sworn In On Biggsville Board of Trustee

Casey Goff is a new Trustee for the Village of Biggsville. He was sworn in at their regular board meeting on July 8th.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Sterett at 7:00 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance. Bills, invoices and the treasurers report were approved.

McDonough Cable is bringing in fiber optic cable for businesses in town and would like to have an easement to place their equipment. Nanci made a motion to allow them an easement, Kathy 2nd it, and the motion was approved by the board.

Streets/Water: James will be repairing streets next week. The stop sign by the jail will be replaced with a yield sign. We also need to replace the stop sign in the east end of town. Mike stated he would be flushing the hydrants on July 22 and 23rd. There will be a new lock put on the pump house. The door at the old pump house was kicked in and will need to be fixed.

Mike got the merry-go-round at Reid Park fixed. We extended thanks to Oquawka Boat for donating their time to make new handles for the merry-go-round. The swing set at Lindo Field needs to be fixed.

Old Business: The village sign has been installed and looks very nice and the board appreciated Bob and Sharron Scott for allowing the village to put the sign on their property. The trees in the ditch have been removed.
