Meet your neighbor Marcy Wood of Indianoplis, Indiana formerly of La Harpe, born on February 8th, 1985 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Richard and Donna Wood of La Harpe.

Her dad is retired from Case Corporation in Burlington, and helps farmers during the spring and fall. He owns a backhoe and does various jobs. Her mom is a CPA and since 1990, has run her own accounting business, Wood Tax & Accounting.

Marcy has one brother Dustin Wood, who lives in Carmel, IN. He is a website/graphic designer and runs a website "Hanger 3" that specializes in vintage transit token necklaces that has been featured in Real Simple and the CBS Morning Show.

Marcy graduated in 2003 from La Harpe High School and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2007 with a Bachelor s Degree in Dental Hygiene.

She has worked at Eagle Creek Dental Associates (part of Heartland Dental Care) with Dr. Kristin Stevens for 2 ½ years. Before that, she worked at various dental offices in the Indianapolis area.

Marcy has a boyfriend of 3 ½ years, Joel who is from Muncie, Indiana.

In 2010, Marcy went to Boston, MA, by herself for almost a week over the 4th of July holiday weekend. She really enjoyed walking around the city and meeting all sorts of people. Since then, she has gone back twice and is always discovering neat pockets of the city.

In her spare time, she loves to hang out with her dog (a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix named Taylor), go wine tasting, go to concerts, and she is an antique enthusiast.

She belongs to a book club where a group of 5 meet monthly at the same restaurant and take turns picking a book. One girl is a journalism teacher at a nearby high school and always comes prepared with questions to go along with the book. They have good discussions.

 There are quite a few things I miss about living in La Harpe," Marcy says, "but the thing I miss the most are all the stars you can see on a clear night. Nothing beats that.
