Take "The Quill" Along

In mid April, Ken and Sara Nirmrick of rural Stronghurst (at right) took "The Quill" along and met up with Dan and Suzanne Chilton (left) in Doniphan, MO where they were storytelling at a Civil War reenactment.

They visited their long time former Stronghurst friends at their home in Winona, MO. Dan was former County Highway Superintendent when they lived in Stronghurst during the late 70s, early 80's. They have retired to their early family stomping grounds. The photo was taken at Alley Mill. Dan and Suzanne have written a book Blue and Gray Cross Current which will be available in June this year. It is a story of Civil War in the Ozarks-true tales from memoirs and Civil War military reports, love and revenge. Everyone enjoyed dressing up as well as touring the area. When you go on a trip, take "The Quill" along and have your picture taken with it, then send it to us. Let's see where all "The Quill" can travel.
