Minutes of The President and Trustees

Henderson County, Illinois

The trustees met in the meeting room of the Raritan Fire House August 8, 2013 with trustees Blender, Anders, Magee, Powless, Knapp, Williamson, President Waller and Clerk Blender answering roll call and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. A moment of silence was held for the fallen firemen and our military. Trustee Blender opened with prayer. On motion by trustee Magee, seconded by trustee Blender the minutes were approved as presented. Motion carried.

Bills presented were as follows: Phil Anders $289.04; Waste Management $986.00; Ameren IP $1251.10; Dennis Rankin $158.80; Dallas Rural Water $836.90; Jay Blender $295.00; PDC $14.50; Murphy's $200.00; Thompson Insurance $2,477.00; Kevin Magee $95.00; Quill $2,383.74; Tom Edmonds $75.00. A motion was made by trustee Powless, seconded by trustee Williamson to approve the above bills. Motion carried.

A discussion was held about the excessive amount charged for putting the Annual Drinking Water Quality Report in the Quill. It was discussed how many residents took The Quill compared to The Hawkeye.

Old Business: It was reported that 4 flag poles had been repaired.

New Business: Flags for Labor Day will be put up on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.

A discussion was held about the late water bills. Any water bill not paid by the last day of the month will be disconnected and charged a 10% penalty. If water is shut off there is a $50.00 reconnect fee plus 10% penalty.

A motion was made by trustee Magee, seconded by trustee Blender and unanimous approval of the board the meeting was adjourned to the next regular meeting night. Motion carried.
