Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor, Nick Ebert. He is from Stronghurst and lives in Biggsville now. Nick is the son of Mary (Finch) Ebert of Keithsburg and has one older brother and one younger brother and two older sisters.

His brother Chris lives in Keithsburg, and Eric, lives in Monmouth. One sister Felicia Simmons lives in Kirkwood and Nicole Ebert lives in Stronghurst.

His grandparents are Don and Sylvia Smith, rural route Biggsville, the late Floyd Ebert, Bertha and the late Albert Finch, Keithsburg.

Nick attended Southern Schools K through 12 and graduated from the LPN program at Carl Sandburg College in 2011. In High School he was active in many clubs: Student Council, FHA, FFA, SAE and he played football. As you can see he used his time well and is still doing that!

Nick is a staff nurse for the Henderson County Health Department. He is the Home Health/ Hospice and the HCHD Outreach Coordinator. He has been with HCHD for only seven months and really enjoys his new job. He has already begun to be very active in the community. Several activities for community participation are in the planning stages - watch for the different events such as the Health Fair coming soon.

Before coming back to Henderson County, Nick worked at Farm King in Burlington, IA, for seven years and the Walmart Pharmacy also in Burlington, IA and the Axline Pharmacy in Monmouth.

Nick really enjoys spending time with family and friends. He likes camping, fishing and painting and anything outdoors. He was a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church.

In the future Nick plans to get his Masters Degree in Nursing and would like to be the Administrator of the HCHD or possibly a supervising nurse at OSF St. Francis in Peoria in the Cardiac Care Unit. He has his life so well planned, he even sees the future as far as retirement! He plans to teach nursing part-time at a college or university and there is such a need for good teachers now and in the future. We're glad to have Nick back in Henderson County and look forward to seeing the plans he has for the future of the Henderson County Health Department.
