February 15, 2012

Monday, February 20th is a legal holiday to celebrate our 16th President's birthday Abraham Lincoln's who was born on February 12th, and our first president's birthday George Washington who was actually born on February 20th.

If you haven't taken time to visit the Lincoln library and museum in Springfield, this is a good month to make the trip.

It is actually one way you would be honoring President Lincoln rather than just getting the day off.

If you need information, you can look on the website.

There is a lot of important history about other government leaders but the stories of Lincoln at the museum is a must-see. Check out the information and photos on the web at www.alplm.org. In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, there is a special Civil War Exhibition this year- "Illinois Answers The Call: Boys In Blue." It may be viewed weekdays, free of charge. Special performances next Wednesday are at 4:30 pm and Thursday at 10 am.
