La Harpe School Board August-Septemer Meetings
AUGUST MEETING
The La Harpe School Board held a regular meeting in the school library on August 21, 2012 with all board members present.
The board approved the preliminary FY 2013 budget, transportation routes, the fuel bid submitted by West Central FS, and formed a superintendent search committee.
The board accepted with regrets the letter of resignation submitted by Angela McConnell, and the letter of resignation from regular route driver submitted by Donna Nell, approved full time paraprofessional status for Denise Kost, full time driver status for Jim Clayton, and regular route driver employment for Nik Wasielewski.
The board approved the following coaches: Stacia Logan for head 5/6 girls basketball with Kelly Morck as assistant, and Lori Fitcher to coach girls track. The board also approved Vivalda Roberts as substitute cook.
A special meeting of the board was held on August 24, 2012 in the district central office.
Action was taken to contact Johnson Controls of East Peoria to provide an updated HVAC control system for the 1998 portion of the main school building.
SEPTEMBER MEETING
At the board s regular meeting on September 18, 2012 in the school library, the board heard presentations from several community members as well as Cindy Pollock s explanation of the Response to Intervention program she directs for the district and Melissa Johnson s visual presentation of a day in her kindergarten class.
The board acted to accept with regrets Superintendent Campbell s resignation effective with his planned retirement of the close of the day June 30, 2013, and accepted with regrets the resignation from David Clover for the position of assistant coach of 7th/8th girls basketball.
The board hired Tori Savage as prekindergarten teacher, approved the FY 2013 budget, and approved the IASB Executive Search Services to assist with the superintendent search process.
The board met September 24, 2012 and approved a resolution to issue Notice to Remedy to teacher Todd Porter.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held on October 16, 2012.
