Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Todd Porter of La Harpe.

Todd and his wife Molly are the parents of two sons Peyton and Jackson.

Molly is a Sales Director with Mary Kay and she is a substitute teacher in the area.

Peyton is 14, and is a freshman at Illini West High School; Jackson is 11, and is in the sixth grade at La Harpe Junior High School.

Todd was born in York, Nebraska and raised in Monmouth. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1986. He graduated from Monmouth College in 1990 and graduated with a Masters Degree from Western Illinois University in 2003.

He has been at the La Harpe Junior High School for 21 years, teaching social studies and coaching Junior High and Varsity Baseball and 5/6 grade boys basketball.

Favorite memories are winning the 2005 Junior High Baseball State Championship in 2005. He says "I have a lifetime of memories with those boys."

"Coach Porter" has been lucky enough to have reached 350 wins as a varsity baseball coach. Todd's favorite life moments are marrying Molly and the birth of his boys.

His hobbies include attending his son's activities, and he loves to go fishing with his sons. He also likes to read and enjoys cooking.

One of his special memories is the day the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile visited our school in La Harpe.

Todd and his family are active members of the Union Church of La Harpe.
