Benefit For Accident Victim

A benefit will be held for the family of Tony Joseph, 21, of Media on Friday, March 18th from 5-7 p.m. at the Stronghurst United Methodist Church.

On February 12, 2011 Joseph was a passenger in a vehicle which missed a turn in Oquawka and became airborne.

Joseph received serious head injuries and was air cared to Peoria where he underwent surgery.

Following a two week stay in the hospital, he has been allowed to return to his home, while undergoing once a week therapy in Monmouth and a trip to Peoria every week. He will, in the near future, have more surgery to reconstruct his skull.

The benefit will include a supper of Maidrites, chips, salads, and drink for a free-will donation.

There will also be a silent auction during the meal.

All proceeds will go to Tony's family to help with their expenses of gas, meals, and other incidentals as he continues the long road in recuperating.
