June 18th, 2011 found Beverly Bowen taking a picture of her husband, Larry, reading The Quill alongside his sister, Deanna Klossing in Vermont. While staying the week at Smugglers Nothch Resort near Stowe, the trio enjoyed visiting the Van Trapp Family Lodge, the Grand Isles of Lake Champlain, Burlington, and Quechee Gorge. They especially enjoyed the quaint towns throughout the picturesque country side of Vermont. The trip was planned to celebrate the couples 50th wedding anniversary.
