A mother, ready to give birth. A donkey bedded down for the night. A long day of traveling to a crowded Bethlehem.
A tired and anxious husband. Nowhere to bring his wife. Then an inkeeper offered just a lowly animal shed.
All the animals gathered around a crafted manger full of hay... the cattle, sheep, and chickens, and now the donkey, too.
They were all full of anticipation for what Mary and Joseph would do. Then a star shown overhead, and a baby's cry was heard, and Joseph laid that infant in that little manger bed.
With the cattle gently lowing the little King asleep, the angels singing "Glory," God's promise was complete.
The gifts we buy each other, can never ever compare, to The Gift of the Saviour who was born on Christmas there.
God's son came to redeem all those who call upon His name, and offer us salvation and eternal home with Him.
Christ IS Christmas. Merry Christmas!
