Intersection, Turn Lanes Caucus Changes Discussed

by Mayor and Council

La Harpe Mayor Brown said that he has met with IDOT - District 6- pertaining to the T-intersection at Hwy 9 & 94, and turn lanes east of town and that bidding on these projects will not begin until April 2011.

The La Harpe City Council discussed these and other issues at their regular meeting September 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall with Aldermen Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown present and Dan Gillett, and Doug Endres.

After usual business, a motion was approved to have an Ordinance drawn up to do away with the election caucus, and to have candidates use petitions for city elections.

The county has bonded money available at 1% interest over 20+ years. Mayor Brown will make inquiries about obtaining funds for the city for projects that need attention.

October 15th will be fall clean-up, and they will pick up computer hard drives and printers, but not TV's, or computer monitors.

The meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m. and the next scheduled council meeting will be October 11, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Respectfully submitted, Lucretia McPeak, city clerk.
