by Susan Galbraith, Quill Reporter

Meet Your Neighbor Kathy Boyer of rural Blandinsville.

Kathy has been employed, as a secretary, by Fort & Neff Law offices in Stronghurst for the past twenty years.

She was born in Macomb and raised in La Harpe.

In 1988, Kathy graduated from La Harpe High School and in 1990 received an associates degree in secretarial science from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.

She and hubby, Scott, have been married for 18 years. Scott farms and raises cattle, corn and beans.

To their union they have a son, Devon, (12) a 7th grader at West Prairie.

Her parents are Edward (deceased) and Sharon Everett. Sharon is employed at the La Harpe School District Superintendent's office in La Harpe.

Her brother, Steve, lives in La Harpe and does construction work. Steve has one son, Blake (10).

Kathy and Scott have a 6 week old nephew, Randy, whose parents are Kris and Jasper Palmer.

She said," Devon's activities keep me on the road!" He participates in basketball, baseball and track at West Prairie.

Devon is a member of the Blandinsville Blue Ribbons 4-H Club and has been showing cattle for the past five years.

For hobbies Kathy enjoys reading and doing counted cross stitch.

When asked what she enjoyed about working she responded, "I like visiting with the people; they are always so friendly and my fantastic co-worker who happens to be my cousin."
