Council Hears Wounded Veterans Biking To Annex Friday Morning

The La Harpe City Council heard that The Wounded Veteran's Sea to Shining Sea bike ride will be en route from Ft. Madison to Bushnell on Friday, July 2nd, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The group will be stopping at the Annex for refreshments.

Graves reported the re-built lift station was installed, but the seals were leaking, so they are going to install the replacement.

Mayor Nightingale from Carthage met with Aldermen and the Mayor on Monday, July 28th, to inform them of the TIF program.

Motion carried to give all employees a 2% raise beginning July 1st.

Police computer was struck by lightning and had to be replaced. Insurance will cover $95.00 of the $595.00 cost of the new computer.

Motion was made and carried to approve the FEMA Hancock County Mitigation Plan.

The city paid $865 to the Hancock County Development Association.

There will be a Public Works committee meeting on Wednesday, June 30th, at city hall.

It was their regular meeting June 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Aldermen present were: Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown. Todd Irish and Michael Bennett were absent.

Also present were: Tim Graves and Doug Endres.

The council also accepted motions to accept the treasurer's report, to pay all bills, and to pass the 2010-2011 Budget Appropriation Ordinance # 2010-4.

The next scheduled regular council meeting will be July 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
