David Conard of Lomax took The Quill along to Ely, Minnesota where he yearly vacations each year. He captured a photo with friends, Ely Mayor Roger Scraba (left), and friend "Moose" Scufsa at the Elly annual ice festival. Roger also is a north woods hunting and fishing guide and has visited in Oquawka in conjunction with Oquawka boats a popular outfitters boat in northern Minnesota where they are called "Quackers" a slang term used for Oquawka.
