Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Michelle Lionberger Cox, born in Carthage, the daughter of Robert and Nancy Lionberger of La Harpe.

Michelle lived in the Burnside-Carthage area before moving to La Harpe her 5th grade school year in 1979.

She has 2 brothers, Mike and Mark Lionberger.

She graduated from La Harpe High School in 1986 and graduated from WIU with a Bachelor of Social Work.

In August 1992, Michelle married Brett Cox. They moved to Olathe, KS for a year before coming back to make La Harpe their home.

They have 3 children, Nathan, 20, who is serving in the US Navy, Ashley, almost 16, a sophmore at Illini West HS and Clarissa, 14, an 8th grader at La Harpe Jr High.

She is employed at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, for 1 1/2 years now in Social Services.

She's a member of the La Harpe Christian Church and has been a youth group leader and involved in various other church activities.

She enjoys watching NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinals, walking her dog, doing various craft projects and family dinners at her parents.

Her favorite memories: the day she married Brett and the birth of their 3 children.

She enjoyed watching son, Nathan graduate from bootcamp at Great Lakes Naval tranining command, and family trips to Florida to see "Uncle Wayne Wetzel," and family, and recent trip to Tempe, Arizona to see friends. She will be visiting Nathan at Patuxent River Naval Air Station south of Washington DC.
