La Harpe City Council

At the regular session of The La Harpe City Council March 23, all Aldermen, but Burford, were present at 7:00 p.m. along with Mayor Ken Brown and Clerk Lucretia Parrish.

Also present were: Dan Gillett, Darrell Kraft, Tim Graves, and Doug Endres.

Alderman approved a purchase of a new mower for the sewer plant, new hedge trimmers, and approved giviing a donation to the Fred Gibb Memorial Car Show.

The City wide yard Sale was set for May 1st and 2nd, and a board representative will check with Jackson Disposal to set a date for the City Wide Clean-up, hopefully for April 25th .

It was reported that Bio-NRG, LLC. of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa met for a meeting at the Annex on Tuesday, March 17, with 34 people to discuss the possibility of a plant being built in La Harpe.

Jon Hall, President of Bio-NRG, LLC will be returning to look at property prospects on March 26th.

The La Harpe City sewer plant purchased a new pump.

It was reported that the Shelter House in the city park had damage done to one of the picnic benches, and the over head light panels.

It was reported that there needs to be a fence put up at the front and back of the torn down property on main street to keep motorists from driving through it.

The board went into Executive Session at 7:41 p.m. and returned at 7:57 p.m. to Regular Session before adjourning the meeting.
