First State Bancorporation Directors Retire

After many years of dedicated service, five directors recently retired from First State Bancorporation, Inc. and its affiliated organizations.

First State Bancorporation, Inc. is the holding company for First State Bank of Illinois with offices in Blandinsville, Carthage, Colusa, Hamilton, La Harpe, Macomb, Monmouth, Peoria and Wheaton.

The following directors retired at the annual meeting, held in Carthage, on May 20, 2009:

C.W. "Mort" Morrison retired after 53 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of Colusa, State Bank of La Harpe, First State Bank of Western Illinois, First State Bank of Illinois and Lamoine Bancorp, Inc.

Blair Callaway retired after 25 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of Colusa and First State Bank of Illinois.

James Garner retired after 17 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of La Harpe, First State Bank of Western Illinois, First State Bank of Illinois and Lamoine Bancorp, Inc.

Richard Rasmussen retired after 30 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of La Harpe, First State Bank of Western Illinois, First State Bank of Illinois and Lamoine Bancorp, Inc.

Edward Lionberger retired after 23 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of Colusa and First State Bank of Illinois.

A retirement dinner, hosted by the bank for the retiring directors and their wives was held at the Hotel Nauvoo following the annual meeting.

Ron Peterson, President of First State, said, "Each of these gentlemen has shown dedication to the communities we serve which has improved the quality of life. In addition, their genuine concern for the well-being of the bank and its employees is greatly appreciated."

The bank opened for business in January 1904 and today has assets of $234 million with capital in excess of $31 million.
