Meet Your Neighbor

by Jenna Clayton, Quill Reporter

Meet Your Neighbor Mariah Krow who lives in Stronghurst.

She was born in Dallas, Texas, and has lived most of her life in the Stronghurst area.

She is presently working toward her GED.

Her finance is Kyle Gemmell. Kyle works at Twomey Company as a general laborer and is also in the Army Reserves.

They are expecting their first child in May.

Her parents are Dixie Savage and Toby Krow. Her mother is employed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and works in maintenance for a construction company.

Mariah has two brothers, Toby (T. J.) a 10th grade student at West Central High School, and Dylan Eldridge, a 7th grade middle schooler.

She said she is a real homebody and enjoys taking care of her home. At the present she is organizing and getting baby things ready for their expected arrival.

In her spare time she loves to scrapbook and is presently working on a scrapbook for the baby, including the latest sonograms. She has finished 15-40 scrapbooks since the age of 13. What a scrapbooker!

She definitely does not like city living. When she was small she lived near Olena, where her grandparents (Edna and Nick Savage) home was. Mariah likes the fresh air and country living. When she lived there her family had 15 horses and she loved riding. She and her mother used to go to auctions and buy the horses that had no home or were as Mariah says, "underdogs that no one wanted." They brought them home and nursed them back to good health.
