Illini West High School would like to announce Mr. Carroll Hickenbottom as the 2008 Illini West Homecoming Grand Marshal.
Mr. Hickenbottom was chosen for his involvement in education and dedication to local athletics. He is a graduate of Northwestern High School and Carthage College.
In high school, he competed in every sport offered and was All-state in football his senior year.
In college, he was a three-sport athlete participating in football, basketball, and track. He worked 15 years at Northwestern High School as a teacher and coach.
Hickenbottom then spent 15 years at Dallas City school district as principal and coach. He currently works for West Central Illinois Special Education Coop. (WCISEC)
Coach Hickenbottom can be found helping out at local track practices and is an official IESA and IHSA track starter. Watching the kids improve is his favorite aspect of coaching.
He and his wife Sandy have been married for forty-four years and have four children.
Illini West hopes to see you all at the parade at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, and football game at 7:00 p.m., both at Carthage.
