Biggsville Board Levy's Tax

To Pay Audit And Insurance

The regular Biggsville board meeting met November 5th in regular session with President Dale Allenbaugh presiding.

Under "Old Business", President Dale Allenbaugh recommended the village tax levy for the cost of the audit and insurance.

The audit is $3,500 and insurance $6,500 per year.

This levy of $10,000 would cost each property owner approximately $50.00 per year.

Brian Sterett moved the village tax levy for the cost of the audit and insurance, seconded by Marilyn Evans.

Roll was called-Brian Cochran-absent, Marilyn Evans-yea, Jennifer Hopkins-absent, Gloria Minard-yea, Bob Onion-nay, and Brian Sterett-yea.

Clerk Frank Jones will contact the county clerk and work out the details for the amended tax levy.

President Dale Allenbaugh said painting the inside of the water tower will be part of the water project. He also said that the estimated usage for West Central is between 10,000 and 13,000 gallons per day for nine months.

Minutes of the regular meeting read by Frank Jones and the treasurer's report read by Gloria Jones each were approved.

Dale Allenbaugh reported that the location of a new maintenance building will be on the old basketball court.

After the bills were read by Clerk Frank Jones they were approved for payment.

Reports:

Parks and Recreation- Dale Allenbaugh reported the parks have been winterized.

Lights- The board will work on Christmas lights on November 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the community building. Citizens are welcome to help.

Public Relations- The annual Halloween Wiener Roast had over 100 in attendance.

Streets- Dale Allenbaugh reported that Rural Development would loan funds for the maintenance building at 4.5% interest.

Bob Onion reported the Adams Street sign is missing at the Valley intersection.

Water- Dale Allenbaugh reported the water tower painting will be covered by the Rural Development loan.

Sewer- Dale Allenbaugh reported the electrical work for wiring the generator has increased by $200.00 per lift station.

New Business-

The railroad bridge has to be inspected by the end of January 2009. Even though the railroad owns the bridge the village is responsible for the inspection.

The board will deliver the Christmas baskets on December 18th after 6:00 p.m.

Dale Allenbaugh read a letter from the Henderson County Health Department asking for a donation towards transportation costs.

Gloria Minard moved the village donate $150.00, seconded by Marilyn Evans. Roll was called and all present voted yes.

Dale Allenbaugh will ask the American Legion if they have a new flag for the community building.

The meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m.

President Allenbaugh opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of America.

Jones took a roll call showing the following were present: Trustees - Marilyn Evans, Gloria Minard, Bob Onion, and Brian Sterett. Trustees absent - Brian Cochran and Jennifer Hopkins. Treasurer - Gloria Jones. Clerk- Frank Jones.

The next regular meeting will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building.
