Gen Felt, left, and Robert Batson were photographed last Thursday on the levee at Oquawka as the Mississippi River rose on Mrs. Felt's riverfront home. The river was expected to crest at Oquawka late that night.
Gen's house is situated on the "river side" of the levee, so it is elevated and therefore the main living space of the home is protected from the water. The river is now going down, but predicted rains could change that.
