The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
In 1911 the Odd Fellow lodge was very strong in Henderson County. The first lodge had been organized in Oquawka in 1855 with W. B. Linell as Noble Grand.
An Olena Loge was instituted in 1879, a Warren (Hopper) lodge began in 1874 and later moved to Stronghurst in 1892.
Several other lodges were organized-Raritan in 1876, Biggsville in 1887 and in Carman later.
As you walk through cemeteries today, notice the lodge inscription on the headstones.
