The Quill traveled with Edward and Helen Brooks of Springfield as they visited the "Plymouth Steps" this summer.
The Pilgrims used these steps to board the Mayflower in 1620. When his ship, the USS Helena, stopped here in 1946, he used the steps to go on liberty and visit Plymouth.
Edward wanted to show these steps to Helen.
