Meet Your Neighbor: Bette Mae Webster

Bette Mae is a new resident at La Harpe Davier Care Center, born on December 7, 1924 to Oscar and Sara Stiner.

At the age of 83, she moved into LDCC on Sunday, February 3rd from Wesley Village in Macomb, to be closer to her son, Gary Webster of La Harpe.

Mrs. Webster grew up in Plymouth, on a small family farm. Being the only child, she recalls "being too busy with farm chores to have much of a social life'.

Her fondest memory of farm life was "the animals'.  When asked what animal she liked the most, she stated "I had too many to name and way too many to remember'.

She attended Midland High School, formerly located West of Tennessee and graduated in the Class of 1942.

Later in life, she met and married Marion Edward Webster from Colchester.

Their small family of three resided there and attended Tennessee Methodist Church.

Being a new resident of the facility, she has not fully experienced the array of activities scheduled; however, she loves spending her spare time relaxing.

In the past, she always enjoyed going to the local restaurant for coffee and socializing with friends.

Along with her son, Gary, she enjoys visits from her great grandchildren, Dominic Jones and Holly Jones.

Stop by and visit with Mrs. Webster, she loves sharing memories of "farm life, such as milking cows and gathering the eggs'.
