Meet your neighbor Krissi Miller of rural Oquawka, owner and operator of The Hair Hut located on the Keithsburg blacktop.
Before opening The Hair Hut in 2006 she worked in a variety of salons before the birth of her children.
Krissi was born at the Mercer County Hospital in Aledo and raised in the Keithsburg area. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1997 and in 1999 from the Capri Cosmetology School of Hair Design in Rock Island.
Krissi and Alan have had their 4th anniversary. They have two children Brody (4) and Maggie (12 months).
Her mom is Jenny Weeks who is employed by Allsteel in Muscatine, Iowa, and her step-dad is Kim Weeks of Keithsburg. Her dad and step-mom are Rick and Gilliam Tharp of Keithsburg. She has one brother, Joey of Keithsburg.
Krissi and Alan enjoy boating on the Mississippi and have recently purchased a camper to begin camping with their children. She also loves to shop when she has the time.
Krissi loves to do Karaoke. She and her brother enjoy doing Karaoke together at Smitty's in Keithsburg.
She remembers when she was younger the family made trips to Brookfield Zoo in Chicago and they entertained family and friends with cookouts, fish fry's, and games of horseshoes.
