Raritan Village Board Raises Garbage Fee

The Raritan Village Board voted to increase the village residents Garbage fee to $25.00 every two months to be effective next year on January 1, 2008.

The board held their regular November meeting on Thursday, November 8th in the Raritan Fire House meeting room.

A zoning permit was approved that allows Larry Thompson to build a new garage on his property.

The Raritan board also approved to participate in the AmerenIP Rate Relief Municipal Light Conversion program.

A discussion was held about the putting up the United States American flags for Veteran's Day. The trustees agreed to meet at 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 9th at the pump house to accomplish this task of remembrance.

The minutes were approved of the October meeting and bills in the amount of $7,163.20 were ordered paid.

Present were Trustees Jim Blender (Clerk), Sammy Blender, Dwayne Magee, Gary Powless, Earl Waller, and Phil Anders. Absent was President Richard Knapp and trustee Mike Knapp.

The audit report was passed out for review prior to the next board meeting which will be December 13th at the Raritan Fire House meeting room at 7:00 p.m.

The public is invited to sit in on all public meetings.
