La Harpe Cultural Exchange Program

Families in La Harpe and the surrounding area now have the opportunity to become involved in a global cultural exchange.

Tracy Hobby has been selected to run the local student exchange program for Aspect Foundation, a non-profit organization that sponsors students from nearly 50 countries.

Ms. Hobby will help to match students with families, and serve as Aspect Foundation's liaison with local schools and colleges.

With Ms. Hobby's help, many families will make unforgettable memories when they host an exchange student for a semester or school year.

Local teens can also participate by spending a semester or academic year studying abroad in Brazil, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain or Uruguay with Aspect Foundation's' Outbound Program.

Aspect Foundation students are aged 15-18, and are chosen on the basis of maturity, grades, and language ability.

Host families provide room, board and a loving home environment for the students. In return, host families and exchange students learn about another culture first hand, and gain a second family for life.

For more information about the Aspect Foundation and how your family can have the cultural adventure of a lifetime, you can contract Tracy Hobby at 217-659-7656, the Aspect Foundation national office at 1-800-US-YOUTH, or please visit www.aspectfoundation.org to view profiles of available students.
