Craig and Anita Wear, both pharmacists, knew that they wanted to have their own pharmacy.
They looked into purchasing several other existing pharmacies, but it just didn't work out. So on August 7, 2006 they opened the doors to Wear Drug located inside of County Market in Carthage.
They also have one employee to help them out and that is Jared Murphy. They are hoping to lure people back into Hancock County with the convenience that they offer.
They are the only pharmacy in the county to have a drive up window, they do free deliveries on Tuesday and Friday to most of Hancock County, and can mail your prescriptions.
They have the ability of compounding (making) prescriptions in the store. They don't want you to be without your medication, so if you need it and it's not a regular delivery day they will work with you.
They are able to fill most prescriptions in five to ten minutes and have been told they are very competitive in price with most larger chain pharmacies.
They currently offer voice mail to call and order refills by leaving your prescription number and are working on getting the same ability online soon. You can visit their website at www.weardrug.com.
They want to offer "Convenience You Deserve, From People You Trust." Craig loves working with the patients and helping them with their insurance problems, getting the right medication, and saving them money.
Craig and Anita are both 2004 graduates of Drake University in Des Moines, IA, which is were they met.
Craig is from the Warsaw area and is the son of Charlie Wear and Jan White.
Anita is from Bombay, India and has taken Craig to visit a couple of times.
In their free time they like to travel, camp, ride four wheelers, and play and attend sporting events.
