Spring Into Action

I am so inspired by the work of so many in our small communities.

We might be one of the smallest counties in population but it doesn't handicap us from being movers and shakers in the world.

Remember it was Todd Hamilton of Oquawka who shocked the golf world with his British Open Championship last year.

And remember the slew of doctor stories we did which testify to only a partial list of doctors from this area.

And there are the heroes at the nursing home, homemakers who are nurturing their families, and the list goes on and on.

My visit with William Wood of Gladstone, Thursday, is the most recent inspiring interview I have had.

His ability to "walk the talk" and focus on the needs of others continually is a strength that comes only from God.

When he became a Christian in that little Gladstone United Methodist Church, he immediately sprang into action, and he hasn't looked back. What's his secret? "If you will read the Bible, you will grow, grow, grow!"
