Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor, Bonnie Hensley of Stronghurst. 

Bonnie has owned her own beauty shop, which is located at her home, for 43 years. 

She was born in Macomb and raised in Vermont, graduating from VIT in 1961. 

In 1967 she married Larry Hensley and they moved to Stronghurst. The couple have two sons, Douglas (Angie) of Dallas City and Scott (Jenny) of Bowen. They also have 11 grandchildren, Jesse, Shawna, Katie, Jennifer, Dawn, Brandon, Raven, Todd, Samantha, Tyl er and Jonathan Andrew, ranging in age from 19 to 1 month. 

She participates in UMW activities on the local, district and conference levels; is a member of Rebekah Lodge in Blandinsville, where she is involved in local, district and state meetings; President of Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch's Militant of IOOF of Illinois; sings with the Western Chimes Barbershop Chorus of Macomb, is secretary for Monmouth IOOF and District 50 IOOF secretary and treasurer. 

In her spare time she enjoys meeting people, singing, crafts, taking pictures and traveling.
